Yesterday, Franklin got one of those snowfalls that makes everything feel a little quieter and a lot more magical.
I walked around town with my camera and honestly just kept stopping. Brick sidewalks covered in snow, empty streets, porch lights still on in the middle of the day, it all felt calm in a way we don’t get very often.

Franklin already has so much character, but snow changes it. The square felt almost empty. Sounds were muted. People waved as they passed, bundled up and unhurried.
It reminded me how much I love photographing this town, especially on days when nothing is really happening, but everything still feels worth noticing.

Most of the photos I took weren’t planned. I just noticed things as I strolled, taking it all in:
- Snow sitting on brick steps and railings
- Footprints crossing the sidewalks
- Shop windows glowing against the gray sky
- Trees and rooftops dusted in white
It’s hard not to feel inspired to take a million photos when looking around!

What I love most about this place is that it doesn’t need much. A little snow, a quiet morning, and suddenly everything feels special without trying too hard.

The snow is now beginning to turn to ice, but I’m SO glad I was able to capture the heart of Franklin as the snow fell! So grateful I get to call this sweet town ‘home’.
